Brooklands is Open for Business
The first new homes at Brooklands, Milton Keynes’ most exciting new property development have been launched (Saturday 11th September).
Brooklands, from developer Places for People, is set to become more than simply a place to live, Brooklands is also a place to work and play with three new schools, businesses and lush green spaces also situated throughout the 360 acre site.
Places for People is the holder of the prestigious What
House? Gold Award - the industry's "Oscars" - and is currently
building 199 high quality new homes on the first phase of
Brooklands, including two, three, four and five bedroom houses and
one and two bed apartments.

After months of anticipation the development was officially
launched at a special event with the Mayor of Milton Keynes,
Councillor Debbie Brock, cutting the ribbon.
Prices start from £128,500 for a one bedroom apartment. There
will also be a range of finance products on offer including:
- Places for People mortgages - The Group will
offer a choice of competitive repayment mortgages - fixed, and
tracker - including up to 100%, so no deposit is needed, although
flexibility is available to pay one if the customer can afford to
do so.
- A buy back guarantee for the first three
years, we will buy back the homes ourselves at the price customers
originally paid.
- Extended 5 year home warranty to protect
buyers' investments providing repair or replacement cover for a
wide variety or major home components and appliances.
- Flexible tenure options to help make property
ownership accessible. These include a 'buy as you go' scheme
that allows buyers to buy a share (between 25% and 75%) of the home
they want and paying a modest rent on the remaining share, with the
option to purchase further shares in the future until they own
their home outright. Alternatively, those with a household
income of less than £60,000 who are not in a position to buy a
property outright may be eligible initially to rent the
property at 80% of the market rate, giving them the opportunity to
save for a deposit.
What distinguishes Places for People from other developers is
their commitment to the long-term management of the places
they create; designing and delivering services to ensure
that all of their developments continue to be great
places to live and maintain their value in the long-term.
Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Debbie Brock,
said; "I am delighted to officially declare Brooklands
open as it marks a new chapter in the development of Milton
Keynes."
Simon Elcock, project director for Places for People,
said; "After seeing the strong interest and demand for
well designed and sustainable homes in a mature setting with the
popularity of our Wolverton Park development, we are really
confident that Brooklands will be another great success for Milton
Keynes.
"Brooklands is a pioneering and evolving development that we are
extremely proud of. We really feel we are creating a unique
place which will appeal to residents and businesses alike. It was a
great honour to have the Mayor Councillor Debbie Brock to declare
Brooklands open for sales and we look forward to welcoming the
first residents who will turn what is a unique scheme into a
thriving community."
Over the next ten years, Brooklands is set to be transformed
from an ambitious vision into one of the most desirable places to
live in the region. The unique design of the whole development is
cleverly calculated so that as the number of homes and businesses
grow towards completion, Brooklands will mature from the size of a
village into that off a small market town.
Brooklands Farm Primary School has already opened and a second
thirty acre public park has been approved providing a new cricket
pitch, four new football pitches and two children's play areas.
Another key feature is the award winning Brooklands Ridge which
runs the entire length of the site. Construction of the ridge is
well under way with a million cubic metres of soil going into
creating this attractive noise attenuation feature, one of the
largest of its kind in Europe, making it hard to believe the M1
motorway is just over the hill.
Brooklands' marketing suite and show homes are open to the
general public seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm. This
first release of mixed housing, from two bedroom apartments and
mews cottages to five bedroom detached homes will be available to
move into this autumn with accessible and flexible purchasing and
rental options available through Places for People - including a 0%
deposit and buy back guarantee.
